Many modern webmasters now use content management systems to build and maintain their sites. These systems are great for webmasters who don’t have any knowledge of website construction but they aren’t usually search engine friendly. Many content management systems are improving but they can still be a little below standard.
When choosing a content management system you should research exactly how well that system is going to work with regards to the search engines. Are the title tags fully editable on each individual page? Are the Meta tags editable on each page? Are the URLs which are produced search engine friendly? These are all questions which need to be asked when purchasing a content management system and if all SEO aspects haven’t been taken in to account then the system is not worth the money.
Although many content management systems are not search engine friendly it is often very easy for an SEO and a web developer/programmer to rectify the problems. Most of the time, these faults are due to the lack of input by an established and experienced SEO.
